after tsukiji.
After wandering around the Tsukiji market in Tokyo for a couple hours, we roamed the streets outside and bought some street food as well as tried out some of the delicious fresh sashimi in the restaurants outside. It was amazing.

Tsukiji Market is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world and also one of the largest wholesale food markets of any kind. We first went inside where there were hundreds of stalls selling all kinds of fish. Outside there is a mixture of wholesale and retail shops that sell Japanese kitchen tools, restaurant supplies, groceries, and seafood, and many restaurants, especially sushi restaurants. Most of the shops in markets close early, so we ventured out first thing in the morning to make the most of it. There is a new album in my Photography section with more pictures.

I have developed a peculiar obsession with socks since I came to Japan and set foot in Muji. They have such an amazing sock selection that I may have gotten carried away purchasing a plethora of patterns. As a result I've been wearing them almost daily, working them into whatever outfit I already have on. (The socks I am wearing are a really nice speckled blue - however I didn't have a close up to post).

My feet hurt from wearing heels all day, so I opted to wear my comfy Steve Madden flats for our evening spent in Ginza, known as one of the most luxurious shopping districts in the world. We snacked on chocolate almonds and dried anchovies while we strolled around and window shopped. What a combo.

I originally had planned to wear something more exciting going to Harajuku, but we ended up going there randomly so I was wearing possibly the most casual outfit worn during my whole stay in Tokyo... I definitely did not stand out amongst the multitude of girls wearing costume-like attire, adorning elaborate hair styles and vibrant make up. I loved it. I should have taken pictures of some of the Harajuku style, but being the awkward person that I am, I couldn't get myself to do it. Harajuku was so lovely, and had plenty of intriguing vintage shops to peruse. We spent all day there roaming around the hidden streets until our feet hurt and we finally made our way back to Akasaka.
