herbs.
From left to right: parsley, basil, cilantro and mint. The potted herbs are a nice decoration for the windowsill, and delicious flavour in any meal.

I spent Sunday afternoon at Granville Island picking out some fresh ingredients for supper. The atmosphere there is so lovely, and it's always fun to pick out different things to nibble on while walking around as well. I ended up buying three different kinds of fresh ravioli: butternut squash, sun-dried tomato and artichoke and porcini mushroom that I ended up tossing in brown butter and shallots. I roasted fresh asparagus with olive oil, sea salt and pepper, that complemented the wild salmon that I pan-fried, also dressed in olive oil, sea salt, and pepper and a squeeze of lemon. Lastly, I made a wilted spinach salad with fig goat cheese, roasted tomatoes, and anjou pear. Simple and delicious for an easy Sunday supper!
I took a walk to English Bay with a friend on a Sunday evening in hopes of catching the sunset. Unfortunately, we missed it (or it never came) but I still managed to take some beautiful pictures using a Leica Digilux 2. The ripples in the water and the sunlight hitting the cool grey sky was amazing. Vancouver has to be one of the most beautiful cities ever; even on the greyest of the grey days.
