two chefs and a table.

While Two Chefs is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I have still only been there for Sunday brunch. The breakfast there is so enjoyable not only because of the delicious food, but because of the atmosphere. I enjoyed a spicy shrimp burrito, filled with ripe avocado, tomatoes and scrambled eggs and a side of hash browns, a nice change to the smoked salmon benny (see here) that I usually get. But benedicts are my favourite, so next time I’m going back to the benny (maybe try the shrimp and avocado benny that my friend got and loved!). Fresh seasonal ingredients, a light-filled cozy space, and vibrant flavours are some of the many reasons why I love coming back to this little nook in Gastown.

Two Chefs and a Table is located on 305 Alexander Street.

soft hues.

Even though it was raining on this particular day (surprised?) and usually I go for darker colours on a grey day, the warm tones in this outfit seemed to bring a little bit of sunshine into my afternoon. After a wonderful brunch with wonderful people at Two Chefs (pictures to come soon), I spent the rest of the afternoon lounging around, flipping through magazines and reading blogs; not minding the lovely pitter patter of gentle rain outside, cozily bundled up in my wool sweater.

Wearing Joe Fresh sweater, Aritzia T. Babaton Becca blouse, Le Fou by Wilfred Rapport pants. Shoes - Michael Kors. Jewelry - Grandma's vintage, H&M, Michael Kors.

the cheaper show.

On Friday, Ryan took me to The Cheaper Show where art is displayed from emerging or established talented artists and sold for $200 no matter the market value. This was The Cheaper Show's 10th anniversary in Vancouver. It takes place only once a year, and I was so excited to be able to come to the pre-show event to check out some of the art, especially knowing that a large percentage of it was from locals in Vancouver. On a side note, people watching at this show was just as interesting as some of the art.

summer solstice.

The first day of summer was officially yesterday! After work I spent the rest of the day in the most leisurely way possible…sushi, walk down to the seawall and beach, drinks at Milestones overlooking the water, and then some dessert as the sun set. I am so happy that summer is finally here – not only was the weather beautiful, but seeing the bathing suits (yes, including cringe-worthy speedos), volleyballs, frisbees and guitars come out, and the sound of people chattering and laughing across the beach was wonderful.

Wearing Margaret Howell tank, Zara Cardigan, Aritzia shorts, H&M Belt, Keds.

happy father's day!

Happy Father's day to all the fathers out there and especially my favourite papa in the world! He is inspirational, strong, devoted, loving, caring, kind, funny (most of the time) and just the BEST. I wish I could spend the day with him more than anything. I hope all fathers out there have a wonderful day with their loved ones. I love you papa.
