There’s something playful and girly about polka dots that I love. I paired this dotted dress with a more structured utility vest to cut through some of the sweetness. Classic prints go a long way, and this dress is sure to be a staple in my closet, and even better it was a steal at under $30 from Forever 21!

This weekend was lovely. It was spent eating delicious food (one highlight: seafood and veggies in a rich tomato sauce with Thai black rice that I wish I took pictures of but unfortunately only thought to do so just as I was cleaning off my third plate… also, it tasted SO much better than it sounds), drinking amazing Nepali tea made by my mother, walking around the city, catching up with friends, and watching the cutest movie “Flipped” on the ferry. On an exciting note - four more days and I’ll be in Kelowna at Center of Gravity! And where I will most likely re-wear this outfit with some sandals instead.

Granville Island is great for little treats and fresh goods. Although pricier than most local markets, I love going there once in a while to pick up some fresh wild salmon, fresh pasta (they make from scratch), and local produce. I also love going there to go to the Italian deli and picking out samples of olives, cheeses, breads and pastas for a picnic style lunch. A gelato by the water ends the late-morning trip on a sweet note. Using my delicious ingredients, I made seared salmon with toasted black sesame seeds, squash gnocchi in a brown butter sauce and roasted yellow zucchini, broccolini and asparagus with just a drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper. Recipe is simple – just ask!
The skies are grey again, but thankfully it's still warm. My only plan for this weekend is to relax and read a good book, and since it's supposed to rain tomorrow it will be the perfect day to do just that. Enjoy the weekend!

The last week was spent in Victoria catching up with old friends and ended off at Shawnigan Lake, tubing and boating under the hot sun. A lot of catching up at work (and of True Blood and Master Chef) and I will get back on the posts shortly!
