daikanyama to shinjuku.

Daikanyama is very quaint and quiet, filled with designer boutiques and delicious little bakeries and coffee shops. Ryan and I enjoyed the morning here looking in stores such as APC and Tsumori Chisato while eating some snacks. We walked from there back to Shibuya where we had some lunch and then continued on to Shinjuku by train and arrived by evening time. The roads were crowded with people; a mosaic in motion with the colourful outfits of young adults and the black suits of business people getting off work scattered amongst each other. So amazing to see.

Wearing Comme des Garçons sweater, UO faux leather shorts, vintage belt, Steve Madden heels. Jewelry - Club Monaco, Michael Kors, Gary Pepper Vintage, the Bay.

shibuya.

Despite the long flight and tiny mishap of getting stuck in a station with no money the first night we arrived, nothing could get in the way of starting the next day with big smiles and excitement. Our first day was spent in Shibuya, one of the major shopping districts in Tokyo. We got a few pictures while it was still quiet since we arrived a couple hours before any of the stores opened. Some great stores in this area include Opening Ceremony, Ragtag (great vintage finds), Beauty & Youth, and Beams. Of course Zara, Forever 21 and H&M (all MASSIVE) are in this area as well, but I steered clear of shops that I could go to back home (embarrassingly harder than it seems). We went to the Margeret Howell shop as well, which was lovely - her collection is amazing - and stopped for a latte in the stores own cafe.

Wearing Wilfred shirt dress, vintage belt, BCBG booties. Jewelry - Club Monaco, Michael Kors, H&M.

inventory magazine.

Inventory Magazine launched their 5th issue a couple weeks ago, and held a nice personal dinner at Nelson the Seagull for family and friends. We enjoyed South African inspired food and drank wine, while chatting over a family style table. I am so proud of Ryan and the rest of the team at Inventory! This issue can be bought on their online store here or at any of the places listed here.

lily.

Lily is someone I am so glad to have had the chance to meet through my blog. We initially got in touch when she had some questions before journeying off to Nepal to volunteer in an orphanage in Kathmandu. Having lived in Nepal throughout most of my childhood, I was eager to answer all of her questions. I've come to know Lily as someone who is extremely inspirational not only in the way she lives her life, but also because of what she aspires to do, and the goals that she has set for herself. Lily is absolutely beautiful and has an amazing sense of style and it is all captured in her blog Bleed for Fashion.

Stay humble and give back. You never know when you're changing someone's life, or saving it. - Lily from Bleed for Fashion

halloween.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween weekend! What was everyone dressed up as? I was the black swan (pictures if you read more)... which at first I thought was a really original idea, until I was walking on the streets and saw 20 other black swans. Good thing I had a Halloween party at my house and didn't see the other swans for most of the night!

Wearing H&M faux fur vest, Club Monaco blouse, Topshop trousers, Steve Madden shoes.. Jewelry - from Nepal, vintage.
