I finally tried deep fried pickles for the first time ever! And they did not disappoint. Extremely crunchy - even more so because of the tempura bits - and the pickle still kept it's full dill flavour. While previously living in Victoria, I always wanted to try Red Fish, Blue Fish for some halibut fish and chips, but the Gally (a favourite for fish and chips) always stopped me from going there. But since I was downtown already this particular Saturday, and my sister waited in line for ages, I finally got to try it and it was satisfying in every way. Sitting by the ocean, eating fish and chips and deep fried pickles... mmm... good thing I went for a run later that evening! P.s. Don't forget to enter my giveaway here - just a few days left!

I received this beautiful Georges Marciano vintage top from Janice of Shoppalu... and as soon as I set eyes on it I wanted it for myself. BUT I wanted to choose the best for my readers, so here it is. It is perfect for all seasons depending on how you layer it and what you wear it with - a versatile addition to any wardrobe. The soft feminine shape of the piece is enhanced by the edgy open weave crochet detailing, creating a playful throwback to the 70's. While I think it's fantastic paired with some vintage shorts, my other option was to pair it with my black leather skirt. I spent the last few days in Victoria... and forgot my charger for my computer and phone. As soon as I realized it, as I was boarding the ferry, I actually was so happy. No phone, no computer, just my family, friends and my book. And that's exactly how I spent the weekend.
